Easton Church of the Brethren has sponsored a weekly televised program entitled Every Church a Peace Church on MCTV Channel 15 (Mid-Shore Community TV in Easton).
Initially, the series consisted of pre-aired programs from the award-winning “Every Church a Peace Church TV” in Atlanta, GA. These progrmas are hosted by Don Edwards, an Atlanta attorney who serves as the Southeast Region ECAPC Coordinator. The programs are a half-hour in length and cover a variety of topics concerning non-violence, peace, justic, and other related issues from a Christian perspective. The programs feature clergy, educators, authors, civil rights and peace activists and others. The programs are provocative and educational.
Every Church a Peace Church is an organization with began with the support of the three historic peace churches – Mennonite, Quaker and Brethren. However, now it includes other churches and faith groups. Based in Akron, PA, the organization’s retired director is John Stoner, a retired Mennonite minister. ECAPC believes that “the church could turn the world toward peace if every church lived and taught as Jesus lived and taught.”
